Looking Ahead – Future Updates and Goals for 2026 and Beyond

Hey 8b8ters,

We've been running strong since 2016 as one of the longest-lasting non-vanilla anarchy servers out there—no rules, no resets, just pure chaos on a single enduring map. With lots of players hopping on regularly (Java at 8b8t.me, Bedrock at br.8b8t.me), we're committed to keeping the server stable, accessible, and true to anarchy roots.

That said, we're always working behind the scenes to improve the experience. Here's a transparent rundown of our upcoming priorities and quality-of-life (QoL) goals. These are driven by player feedback, technical needs, and our push for better privacy and reliability.

Short-Term Tech Upgrades

  • 1.21.11 Update Target: End of March to early April 2026. We're pushing to bring the latest Minecraft features and fixes to 8b8t while preserving our custom anarchy setup (hacks allowed, no vanilla restrictions). This keeps us current without breaking the core experience. Stay tuned for exact timing—we'll announce it loud and clear on the site and Telegram. Longer-Term Platform Shifts

  • New Website Launch Target: Summer 2026. Our current site has served us well, but it's time for a refresh. Expect a cleaner design, better mobile support, faster loading, and more resources for new players (rules? What rules? But maybe some helpful anarchy tips).
  • Phasing Out Discord – Full Move to Telegram Target: End of 2026. Privacy and free speech matter in anarchy. Discord's increasing moderation, data policies, and restrictions don't align with our no-rules ethos. We're gradually shifting community chat and announcements to Telegram for a more open, censorship-resistant space. Join our Telegram now for updates, free perks (like extra homes/render distance for some), and direct player-staff interaction.

Improving Support and Player Experience

  • Better Support for Paid Rank Holders We've already removed the old Discord ticket server and channel due to the same privacy concerns mentioned above. This shifted everyone—including paid rank players—to email support. Goal: Build a faster, in-game or dedicated system so paid members can reach staff without emailing. Quicker responses, less hassle—working on it as a priority.
  • Fix In-Game Email Recovery and 2FA Account security shouldn't be a headache. We're tackling bugs around email recovery and two-factor authentication directly in-game to make protecting your progress smoother.

Network and Stability Focus

  • Enhanced DDoS Protection Anarchy attracts attention (good and bad). We're evaluating additional or alternative providers to strengthen our network defenses and keep the server online during spikes.
  • Addressing Player-Reported Issues Random disconnects, packet loss, lag spikes—we hear you. The team is digging deeper into these concerns, testing configs, and monitoring to reduce them. If you're dealing with persistent problems, report details via the current channels (Telegram preferred).

These aren't just promises; they're actionable steps to make 8b8t more resilient and player-friendly while staying 100% anarchy. No resets, no sudden wipes—just evolution.

What do you think? Got priorities we missed or ideas to add? Drop them in Telegram—we're listening more than ever.

Stay chaotic,
The 8b8t Team
