10 Years as a Project. 6 Years on One Map. 4 Years as 8b8t.
Today marks four years since 7b7t officially became 8b8t—a moment that wasn’t just a name change, but the beginning of a new era built on experience, stability, and long-term vision.
What started over 10 years ago as a project has grown into one of the longest-running anarchy communities still standing. While countless servers have come and gone, 8b8t has continued to evolve without abandoning its history.
One Map. Nearly Six Years of History.
The current map has now been online for nearly six years, carrying forward uninterrupted history from the 7b7t era into 8b8t. The decision to keep the map was intentional: preserve the past while strengthening everything around it.
Every base, ruin, highway, and scar remains part of the world. This is not a reset—it’s a living archive.
Why the Rebrand Happened
Four years ago today, 7b7t became 8b8t to signal a shift in direction:
- A new era, not a wipe
- Stronger and more resilient infrastructure
- Better performance and scalability
- Clearer long-term goals
- Continuous improvement across every aspect of the server
The name changed, but the foundation did not. Everything learned over years of operation was used to build something more durable and future-ready.
Stronger Than Ever
Since the rebrand, 8b8t has:
- Maintained the same historic map
- Withstood botting waves, exploits, and external attacks
- Modernized systems without sacrificing legacy gameplay
- Proven that longevity and stability matter more than short-term hype
While many servers chase trends, 8b8t focuses on permanence.
Expanding Into Hytale
The vision of 8b8t doesn’t stop with Minecraft. As part of this new era, we’ve opened an official Hytale server at hytale.8b8t.me, extending the same long-term mindset into the next generation of sandbox multiplayer.
Just like with Minecraft, the goal isn’t quick attention—it’s to build something that lasts, with infrastructure and community at the core.
A Decade of Persistence
Ten years as a project is the result of consistency, adaptation, and refusing to abandon what makes a server real. Four years ago, 8b8t was created to move forward without erasing the past—and that decision continues to define the server today.
This isn’t the end of a story.
It’s proof the story was built to continue.
