Terms of Service

The rules and legal terms that apply when using 8b8t services.

Overview

8b8t is a persistent survival multiplayer server built around player-driven gameplay and minimal administrative intervention. Players may explore, build, compete, communicate, and shape the world through their own actions, subject to these Terms of Service and applicable law.

Gameplay actions such as griefing, player-versus-player combat, the use of modified clients, and strong language may occur on the server. However, conduct involving illegal content, real-world harm, threats, exploitation, abuse of infrastructure, or other violations of these Terms is prohibited.

8b8t respects lawful expression. Nothing in these Terms permits unlawful conduct, removes a user's responsibility for their actions, or limits our right to protect the service, its users, and XERA INC.

Compliance with Law

You must comply with all laws and regulations that apply to you and your use of the services, including applicable Canadian law. Illegal activity conducted on or through our services is prohibited and may result in access restrictions, preservation of relevant records, and reporting to the appropriate authorities where required or permitted by law.

Zero Tolerance for Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM)

8b8t has a zero-tolerance policy for Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) and any content that depicts, promotes, or facilitates the sexual abuse or exploitation of minors. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Images, videos, text, descriptions, links, or references to child sexual exploitation in any form.
  • Illegal maparts, signs, books, chat messages, inventory or ender chest contents, or any other in-game medium containing or linking to such material.
  • Grooming, solicitation, or any preparatory conduct related to child exploitation.

Prohibited Actions

  • Uploading, storing, linking to, requesting, sharing, distributing, or possessing CSAM in any form.
  • Sending links, private messages, or other content that contains, facilitates access to, or solicits CSAM.
  • Attempting to report suspected CSAM by sharing, screenshotting, reproducing, forwarding, or re-uploading the material.

Reporting Suspected CSAM

If you encounter suspected CSAM, follow these steps:

  • Do not interact with, repeatedly view, save, screenshot, share, or forward the content.
  • Do not send the material to 8b8t staff or post it in any server, Discord, Telegram, support ticket, email, or other communication channel.
  • Report it directly to the appropriate authorities immediately.

Staff Policy on CSAM

8b8t staff and administrators are not equipped to receive, inspect, store, or investigate suspected CSAM. Do not send the material itself, screenshots, copies, or direct links to staff. Accounts that transmit or distribute such material through any XERA INC. service may be permanently restricted and reported to the appropriate authorities.

This policy is intended to protect users and staff and to ensure that reports are directed to organizations and authorities trained to handle them safely.

Other Prohibited Conduct

The following conduct is prohibited across the server, website, shop, support channels, and associated community services:

  • Sharing, distributing, requesting, or linking to illegal content.
  • Doxxing, swatting, credible threats of real-world violence, extortion, stalking, or unlawful harassment.
  • Content or conduct that exploits, sexualizes, grooms, or otherwise harms minors.
  • Impersonating XERA INC. or 8b8t staff for fraud, account theft, or other harmful purposes.
  • Using the services to coordinate attacks against people, accounts, systems, or infrastructure.

Violations involving real-world harm or serious illegality may result in immediate restrictions, permanent denial of access, removal of account data, and/or reporting to authorities.

Server Integrity

You may not intentionally compromise the security, availability, or stability of the services. Prohibited activity includes unauthorized account access, credential theft, denial-of-service attacks, malicious exploit abuse, bypassing technical restrictions, or intentionally creating excessive load on server, proxy, website, database, or network infrastructure.

Automated systems that negatively affect server performance, gameplay integrity, or infrastructure may be restricted. This includes automated item or kit distribution, harmful bot networks, excessive automated travel, intentional mass chunk generation, or automation designed to disrupt other users or force resource exhaustion.

XERA INC. may apply technical limitations, remove harmful automation, restrict access, or take other reasonable measures to protect service availability and security.

User-Generated Content

Chat messages, builds, map art, books, signs, usernames, skins, and other material submitted or created by users are user-generated content. Users are solely responsible for the content they create, upload, store, transmit, or share.

XERA INC. does not routinely pre-screen all user-generated content. We reserve the right to remove or restrict content and accounts when we reasonably believe they violate these Terms, applicable law, platform requirements, or the security and operation of the services.

By submitting content to the services, you grant XERA INC. a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, and process that content only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, maintain, promote, and improve the services.

Access and Account Terms

  • You are responsible for maintaining control of your account, username, credentials, and connected services.
  • Access to the server, website, shop, chat, support, or associated services may be limited, suspended, or terminated when necessary to enforce these Terms, protect the services, comply with law, or address security and operational risks.
  • Ranks and perks may be removed when associated with fraud, chargebacks, abuse, or violations of these Terms.
  • XERA INC. may modify, replace, suspend, or discontinue service features, ranks, perks, worlds, domains, or integrations at any time.

Chargebacks and Refunds

Except where required by applicable law or expressly stated at the time of purchase, payments made to XERA INC., including shop packages and rank purchases, are final and non-refundable.

Initiating a chargeback will result in:

  • Suspension or removal of purchased ranks, perks, and associated access.
  • Temporary or permanent restriction from XERA INC. services.
  • Submission of relevant transaction and account records to the payment processor for dispute review.
  • Further action where there is evidence of fraud or unlawful activity.

Legal Notice

These Terms form an agreement between you and XERA INC. regarding your use of the services. If any provision is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect to the fullest extent permitted by law.

The services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, data retention, compatibility, or fitness for a particular purpose, to the extent permitted by law.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, XERA INC. is not liable for lost items, lost builds, world changes, downtime, service interruptions, account loss, data loss, or indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of the services.

Scope of Services

These Terms apply to all XERA INC. services, including but not limited to:

  • 8b8t Minecraft servers and related game services
  • 8b8t.me, 8b8t.ca, 8b8t.net, and other XERA INC. websites and domains
  • Stores, support systems, APIs, proxies, authentication services, and community platforms operated by XERA INC.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version becomes effective when posted unless a later effective date is stated. Continued use of the services after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Agreement

By accessing or using any XERA INC. service, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the services. Violations may result in content removal, loss of ranks or perks, access restrictions, account termination, preservation of relevant records, or referral to appropriate authorities.
