About 8b8t

8b8t is one of the largest non-vanilla Minecraft anarchy servers, known for its no-rules gameplay and active player base. Originally launched in late 2016 as 0b0t by Leee, the server was created as a faster, queue-free alternative to 2b2t. In 2019, it was rebranded to 6b6t due to domain issues, and later became 8b8t, the name it proudly carries today.

During the COVID-19 lockdowns, 8b8t experienced explosive growth, driven by global interest and widespread attention from YouTube creators. By mid-2020, it was consistently reaching over 150 concurrent players, cementing its place among the top anarchy servers.

The current map began in January 2021 and has grown to over 5000 GB in size. With 370,000+ unique players, this world is one of the most active and long-standing in anarchy history. The previous map was lost due to corruption, but we now run daily backups to ensure the world remains permanent. There are no plans for a reset—this world is here to stay.

8b8t runs on Folia, a high-performance server software that enables hundreds of players to connect simultaneously without significant lag. In addition, we’ve developed a custom open-source plugin that introduces essential features and patches game-breaking exploits. You can view the plugin on GitHub.
